I wonder what the contract between Edmonton and WBS is. Now AHL teams cough up players to the NHL teams all the time, that is what they are there for, BUT... WBS coud get SERIOUSLY F'd in the A if the Pens call a few guys up AND the Oilers call a few guys up.
Within reason you could see the possibility of a NHL team calling up 5 guys due to injury/etc. Even that is a little extreme, but possible. Now, if the Pens call up a few guys and then the Oilers call up their guys as well, it's possible that HALF the WBS roster could be called up. Even if they would rape Wheeling and call up all their guys... it would be B-A-D. Plus, Wheeling would then also be screwed.
I just wonder if there is something in place where the Oilers can only call up x number of players at a time and if it is also related to how many players the Penguins have called up.
Hmmmmm...
