How does racism still happen? Easy, everyone is racist.
Even though I disagree with this, I'm also not naive enough to believe there aren't racist people. What I can't believe is that those racist people still don't understand that it's not okay to spew racists remarks.
I believe there are more racist people than not. And I'm talking mild to moderate racism, not just hanging someone from a tree or burning a cross. I'm also talking about all racism, not just white people hating black people. All countries, all people, they have derogatory words for each other. Therefore it's no surprised to me that this stuff happens.
What is surprising is that people think racism is scarce. Maybe on the sanitized television we watch it's scarce, but outside of that it's not. And in general, the mild to moderate racism I don't think is that bad.
"I told that kraut a ******* thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos!" That's not nice, but it's not awful either. Putting pressure on people to stop that kind of behavior only leads to worse racism.
It is, however, pure racism if you gank the regular bottle of 'basco from Chipotle but leave the Chiptole version.
Definition of RACISM
1: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
Are you racist? Because according to Doc, EVERYONE is racist so who cares just let it run rampant!
This is the same guy who used derrogatory gay slander because he thought it was funny.
Not sure where the gay slur took place, but all I, Doc and others are saying in this thread is "Why is anyone shocked that racism still exists?" It's rampant! It comes from all angles.
I also think "racism" is overblown and can take on different meanings. e.g. It's one thing to hang someone from a burning cross. It's something altogether different to say "Italians are loud". Both could be called racist.
