2021 NHL Playoffs
This battle of Florida is a horrible look for the officials. Also, not sure why Bob is starting for the panthers, is the good goalie hurt?

Hell of an entertaining game and the first playoff game to not go into OT so far.

Why were you guys wasting time with that game? You should have been preparing for the main attraction... the VAN-CAL regular season game!

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
That was an intense crazy physical playoff hockey between Florida and Tampa. Hate each other.
Pens playoff games are just a little bit more intense then their regular season games lol

If a regular playoff game is played like a 33rpm record, that one was on 45. The speed and tempo of both teams is off the charts, and then throw in all the hitting, loads of skill and general nasty and you get some real exciting hockey. I was surprised that the Panthers gave as good as they took in the physicality, though it looked like in the 3rd it was starting to take its toll a little on them.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
NHL radio had an interesting question on pick your series winner then add a confidence rating from 8-1 on how much you think your picks were a lock. Battle of Florida was my 1, picked the Panthers but this one is flip a coin.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
The announcers for the Canes-Preda game are the Isles announcers and lady that called our game. And they aren’t at the arena. There is zero reason NBC can’t have actual people at these arenas calling games in person for the playoffs.
They also seem to be lowering the natural sound volume at the arena. There are 12,000 fans there and you can barely hear them, the whistles and the music they play between whistles. Horrible production all around.

Bruins score early in OT to tie the series. Canes have a 2 goal lead half way into the third, if this holds it will be the biggest margin win. Crazy how close these games are.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Little early to call that. The CAR/NAS match was by far the biggest standings points margin difference seen yet in a 1/4 match (16 vs 7 in the PIT/NYI series). We've yet to see how the COL/STL (19) and TOR/MTL (18) 1/4 series start. The close games thus far are with teams that have ended close in the standings.DelPen wrote:Bruins score early in OT to tie the series. NBC certainly went cheap as hell then and for no good reason whatsoever, except CHEAP. I watched the Canes broadcast and the 12K were definitely LOUD from before the start to the horn, and then it sounded like the Canes had won the Cup.DelPen wrote:The announcers for the Canes-Preda game are the Isles announcers and lady that called our game. Vegas capacity looks pretty good. Going to be really strange seeing playoff games in Canada with no fans and fake crowd noise.

Hopefully the border issue moves the games south.DelPen wrote:Vegas capacity looks pretty good. Going to be really strange seeing playoff games in Canada with no fans and fake crowd noise.

The Caps do not look good. They’re super slow, slow to move the puck, rarely in position. Power play looks brutal.

Dowd goes from potential GWG to goat with an incredibly bad penalty in another zip code from the play. B's PP there looked like moneymurphydump55 wrote:Bruins power play comes up big. Wouldn’t know that feeling.

Caps look awful. They’re painfully slow, two steps behind, just flat.

They look in OT like they would rather be elsewhere. They have nothing left in the tank.murphydump55 wrote:What a horrible penalty.brwi wrote:Dowd goes from potential GWG to goat with an incredibly bad penalty in another zip code from the play. Kadri obliterated Faulk last night in the Avs - Blues game. Has a history of playoff suspensions. Should get at least 5 games.

Given Parros' history of crappy decisions an lack of concern for actual player safety... probably a fine, maybe one game.Zarovich wrote:Kadri obliterated Faulk last night in the Avs - Blues game. Has a history of playoff suspensions. Should get at least 5 games.

See OV yelling at the goalie after the GWG? Stay in the net ! And a bunch of other stuff.
Strong leaders don’t do that for others to see.

His ego made him lash out. He has 1 goal in 63+ minutes of ice time. His ego can't handle that.KG wrote:See OV yelling at the goalie after the GWG? Stay in the net ! And a bunch of other stuff.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
So sad to see totally empty seats in Canada still. NHL has to have a plan for the semifinals to have the North winner hosted in the US, and at this point it can be anywhere that still has a sheet of ice. Buffalo is probably the best location, 8pm starts for the home games isn’t too late for East or too early for Edmonton or Winnipeg.
