Pirates to lock up Jack Wilson

I am kinda torn on this. I like Jack, but he didn't exactly have the best year last year. I don't see the rush in locking him up right now.

Hopefully, Jack has another All-star year like two years ago, and this move pays off.

If Jack hits like he did in 2004, $6 million is a bargain. If Jack hits like he has every other season in the majors, they overpaid. I like the move because it is a risk worth taking since he's a great guy, team leader, and gold glove at short.

i honestly think jack was playing ill, or out of shape, rusty all year due to his surgery at the beginning... he did have his moments last year... and i am all for the lock up... him and castillo up the middle should be extremely exciting might actually put fans in the seat for years to come... i think jack... and castillo will both imporve at the plate... its just a matter of time...

but isnt it always just a matter of time with the pirates! :?
