Acciari-Poulin-Puljujarvi would be a solid forechecking 4th line. Carter shouldn't be playing 14+ minutes a night.DelPen wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:34 amIt’s a lot more Harkins than Carter. It’s a shame Poulin can’t stay healthy because he would be perfect for the 4th line right now.KG wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:24 am If the Pens are as into the advanced analytics as they say they are, then they really need to get Carter and Harkins out of the lineup. The 4th line gets rolled and plays way too much. Get Acciari some real linemates who aren't just looking to chip and chase for 25 second shifts.

The biggest thing with analytics is...teams have their own departments, and traditionally teams aren't looking at the same things that would be available at Natural Stat Trick or other analytics sites...namely Corsi/Fenwick/Shot attempts. I remember a year or so ago Sullivan alluded to this saying something like, we aren't looking at the same data you do, and seeming to stress more of an importance on Scoring Chances than Shot attempts.DelPen wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:34 amIt’s a lot more Harkins than Carter. Taylor from DK's site just had a good piece on the Penguins and analytics: https://www.dkpittsburghsports.com/2024 ... lytics-tlh

Weird that players look like crap lately with Malkin, but seem competent with Sid. Zucker, Rakell, even Rust are prime examples lately. Just an observation.

Said that to my wife last night...maybe we need to worry less about wingers for Malkin and more about a center for the wingers.
Great game last night though..despite the blunders and **** moves, they produced a great win against a great team. Was fun to watch. Puusty definitely seemed to have an up and down game.

Since when did anyone say Zucker was not a good fit with Geno? He was. And Malkin had a good season with him.Pruezy11881 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 10:17 am Weird that players look like crap lately with Malkin, but seem competent with Sid. Rakell looks bad. Plain and simple.

The 3 minutes he managed to not be injured away from Malkin is too small a sample size.Pruezy11881 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 12:59 pmZucker was better away from Geno.lemieuxReturns wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 12:52 pmSince when did anyone say Zucker was not a good fit with Geno?
