Re: Other NHL Games 2018-19 Edition.
Very strange post season - even for the NHL:
Isles sweep the Pens in round 1
Canes sweeps Isles in round 2
Bruins sweeps Canes in round 3
I wonder if that has ever happened before. Heck, I half expect the Bruins to now get swept to make the cycle complete.

None of the pundits are giving the Blues much of a chance. But hedging since the Bruins have had 11 days off...

The generous officiating from the ECF has accompanied the Bruins to the SCF.

Sundqvist hits a Bruin in the side numbers on his shoulder, Bruin flops, blues get another penalty. This is a joke.

How do both officials miss Chara breaking Bozak’s stick?

Blais gets called for holding (which he did) while being held.

Sundqvist gets another penalty for playing hockey that these clowns won’t ever call on the Bruins. Same **** as the Canes series.

Entitled Bruins fans don’t think a penalty is a penalty.

Chara should lead the NHL in PIM most years but he gets away with it.Faubert5 wrote:Chara should have gotten two as well.
Now this recent Blues penalty I have no problem with. Sticking his skate out with a trip attempt was worse than the slash.

Man, this is one HEAVY hitting finals. Not sure the Pens would have survived either team. Speaks to how winning in the playoffs is very different than the regular season. You carry a guy like Maroon all year so that he can be a tank come playoff time. GMJR, are you watching these finals.... get your head out of Kessel's offers for a minute and make sure you see the Pens need some beef.

You mean like Reaves or Gudbranson? This is also quite the change from the 1st 2 rounds when people said the Pens need more speed.Penspal wrote:Man, this is one HEAVY hitting finals. A nice balance would be good, but HCMS also needs to play the beef more than 10 minutes per game.

There is prime grade A beef, and then there is the rest. Either of the finals teams would take Reaves in a heartbeat right now.... 4th liner, 10 minutes, out there murdering guys... cause... welll, there are no penalties called.... WAIT, as I type this, they are going after Sunny's hit on Grzelcyk... You just never know with this league.....Daniel wrote:You mean like Reaves or Gudbranson? Re: Other NHL Games 2018-19 Edition.
I went through Reaves game log 4 months after he was on the Pens. Can't remember the TOI (11, 12, 13 minutes), but when he played more than that the team was undefeated. When he played less they were under .500.Penspal wrote:There is prime grade A beef, and then there is the rest. I think if MS played him as much as 4th liners during the cup years, the season has a very different end result.

Re: Other NHL Games 2018-19 Edition.
Blues are a heavy and physical team but they have to play a LOT smarter and disciplined than they may be capable of doing or the lethal Bruin PP is going to continue to decide games as it has all playoffs this year. Even with reduced calls, they are still deciding games on the PP.Penspal wrote:Man, this is one HEAVY hitting finals. Not sure the Pens would have survived either team. Bruins are similar to the Caps last year in that they can come with both skill and some physicality and are getting very good goaltending when needed. Looks like a Cup winner. Also showing you don't have to have a pure #1 dman that everyone thinks the Pens absolutely must have in Letang.

If any Blues player did what Marchand did to Bennington it would have been a penalty.
