2022 Olympic hockey

Post by Sigwolf »

The US women's team had a big blow to their chances for a gold medal when they lost one of their best forwards in the first period of their first game. Brianna Decker was taken down awkwardly and had to be stretchered off with a "lower body injury". She's already been ruled out for the remainder of the competition. Looking at replays, it sure appears she broke her left ankle, though that hasn't been confirmed. Officiating is already in prime form, however, as no penalty was called on the play...

US men's team raised medal hopes with the only undefeated record in preliminary play... and then crap the bed in the quarterfinal. Losing the lead with 0:43 to go in the third wasn't bad enough, so they had to follow up with an 0-5 shootout effort. :face:
