Official GDT: Pens @ Oilers 3/3/24

Post by DelPen »

The nightmare of this west coast trip is soon to be over, thankfully this one starts at 9 so no really late night. This is a stat that should had got a coach fired twice:

Back to back games, we have extra players up. Would think maybe someone would come out for a game. Nope. We should be firmly out of gas by mid 2nd period tonight...

If I hear Sullivan say "we have to embrace the challenge on what's in front of us"...one more time...

No way this team can't be sick of him.

This stat is the one that destroys any defense of Sullivan and this staff remaining. They Can't figure it out, will be worse this season.

Over a Year and a half.Swapped out nearly half the Defense 2 Years in a row and didn't improve.

5 losses this year is 10 points in the standings which has them 3rd in the Metro and tied for the WC Spot.

And we all know that 1 more victory last year gets them a Playoff Spot.

Unless Ned stands on his head I'm guessing The Oil are sadly going to do a number on us tonight.McDavid loves to play against the Pens.

Can't even dress Puljujarvi against his old team for some extra jump. But I'm sure Harkins will look great as McDavid flys by him for a goal or 7.

Remember when the Oilers had a horrible start and everyone was saying they were done? Then they fired their coach and are now 2nd in their division. Funny how that’s an option when you can’t easily trade half the team.

Bemstrom. No more of that. We don’t allow one timers on our power play.

Smith gives the puck away at Center Ice,then Carter throws a useless pass to the corner with no one close to getting there to go dig it out. Guess Reirden liked the way it looked at PP Practice.

Love watching a team just set up in the zone and control play.

Wish the Pens did that once in a while.

Pettersson actually played that right, unfortunate rebound that went right to Hyman instead of to the near corner.

Great turnover EK! When the McDavid line is out against you it's always a good idea to make a really stupid pinch.

Unfortunately Pettersson's partner was nowhere to be found.

Weak play at the Blue Line by Karlsson and it goes back for the 2 in 1 that gets a tap in for them. Not what they needed.

I think Eller nets us a 2nd. Good signing this summer. We will need more of those kind of signings over the next 3 years or so. One year type late UFA prove-it signings.

Ned is giving up fat rebounds on almost every shot.

We can retain some salary too to get a better return. Ned could get us a 2nd as well, there are enough teams looking for a goalie for the playoffs and he fits under everyone’s cap.
