I think you get points for qualifying with your bench. Kind of silly, IMO.

I'm glad I didn't accidentally make my 10k'th post in the Nascar thread talking about Robbie Gordon.

did he sell his spot to Michael Waltrip? That was rumored but I never heard anything else of it. Still looks like R Gordon in the 7.

After Waltrip literally just wrecked into the wall for no reason, I don't think I want him in the race. I also absolutely hate Robby Gordon and his big, irrelevant mouth.

I might be wrong on this, cause I'm not in a league this year. But I believe the point of the bench is that you can promote a bench driver to your starting lineup after qualifying. So for example if you have Dale Jr and he's looking awful the entire weekend, you can swap him for one of your bench drivers.

He's such an ass. It's one thing when Keselowski spews something off, but Gordon just ******** about everyone even though he has no funding and start and parks. So annoying. Not to mention, he was an ass when he did have a good ride. Remember Montreal when he celebrated after being black flagged?

McKenzie
Popular theory: DAL is holding up a lot of teams. Many in on Steve Ott and not looking elsewhere until that's resolved. #TradeCentre
Ott would be what the Dr. ordered here, but he'd cost too much in this dry market, I would think.

I wondered where that post went!

Anyway, this is the first Monday Night Race in NASCAR History. That blows my mind with Monday races being fairly typical.

Yep, when Ambrose dumped him under caution and NASCAR told him it didn't matter, sit down and shut up. He finally did, but only the next day. Dude races everything under sun, all on his own terms.

I keep seeing people thinking that this weeknight race is going to be huge, and its going to prompt NASCAR to actually schedule a monday nighter next year. I think NASCAR might just be stupid enough to do that, and then get it rained out :face:

Hahaha. Monday Night Racing not that great of an idea, but I like weeknight stuff so much better than freaking weekend stuff.

Gordon also has been busted cheating in how many different events, then in utter denial after each time?

he had to miss Pocono that weekend for that stunt. He was an idiot. He had a legit greivance, but went about airing it the wrong way.

He had a legit grievence, but what was NASCAR going to do for him? Absolutely nothing.
Don't get me wrong, 9 times out of 10 the crap he winds up knee deep in is of his own doing, but on that one NASCAR wasn't going to do a thing.
As for cheating, where? Even the ASO has backed off's its claims about his tire inflation system from Dakar this year. He's gotten nabbed for little things over the years like every NASCAR team has.
He's just a guy that doesn't use his head a whole lot, but puts his foot to the floor. I've had the pleasure of doing some businees with him before and he's a great guy off the track. He's not for everybody, but that's why there's 43 of them :fist:

Just don't see any way this race gets in tonight. All it's going to take is one stray shower to delay it another two hours. I'm hoping that's not the case, since I'll be at work tomorrow, but we shall see.

watching that next shower to the west. Worst of it moving more SE could see it break up & weaken. #NASCAR

Yeah, it's supposed to stop raining for a couple of hours. There are storms in the center part of the state, drifting east. They just need to miss the track

I want all 500 miles, if they go green. Although, we're almost definitely going GWC -- we have in every race during speedweeks.

Drivers to their car at 645 - Green Flag at 715. This is happening.

I wonder what the odds are in Vegas of the whole 500 miles being completed?

I'd bet serious money on a 'short race'.

Nah - it's going the whole 500. It's evidently going to be clear after this rain to the West blows South.
