Vegas trip booked for March. Can't get here soon enough.

Will be staying (for free!) at The Cosmopolitan http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/?gc ... 4AodrzMAEQ.

My friend and her husband loved it. Anyone else stay here? I know it's a relatively new place.
when we were at the bellagio last they were constructing that and it looked beautiful. we are going in august for a conference and staying at the mirage. never been there befre

Skipping Vegas this year, still looking at an all inclusive trip. Looking at turks and caicos in early April right now.

If you're at all into fitness and you're planning a trip to Vegas, the Canyon Spa that's between The Venician and the Bellagio is absolutely outstanding.

Googled Canyon Spa. Clicked on a day pass. Only $40. I'll keep it in mind.

Going on my first cruise in mid-April with my parents and other family members. Should be..... interesting.

Also, any suggestions for a weekend trip with my brother that would be fun/warm/cheap in Feb. It has to be somewhere Southwest flies since I have free miles. :pop:

You won't regret that $40. It's really a very very nice place with more amenities than you can imagine.

Let me know if you end up experiencing it.

Tickets bought for germany and italy for march! I will be flying into Rome and be in Italy for 5 days, then Germany for 4.

I have always wanted to see the Vatican so I finally get to do it! I haven't planned anything else, so if any of you have suggestions of free things to do, I would love to hear them :)

Just get a car and drive around Tuscany. Florence, Siena, Pisa, etc in spring = good times. Or you take the other direction and visit Napoli. That will mean you eventually no longer have a car, a passport, or any money. But it's worth it noen the less.

Are you going Friday after work to Sunday night or taking off time?

OT (slightly) but how much time off per year do you guys get from work?
I'm about to start a job at the Federal Government (my first real real job) and was wondering what I can expect to work with for travel.

not sure if this warrants a new thread or not but we are planning a honeymoon to take place in the next 30 months. not sure where yet (likely caribbean, mexico, or europe [france - paris and cannes]). what are some good credit cards that have good travel reward points? the capital one venture card seems to offer the best rate back in terms of spending, but the sign on bonus is the lowest (10,000 miles but no yearly fee) (and also no international charge fee). what is nice about this is that you are not locked in to a certain airline or hotelier while some of the specific brands offer larger initial rewards with a yearly fee and lower rate of return (in terms of points). i think the best strategy will be to focus on airline miles/cards and apply these to free flights rather than trying to lock in to a resort and use their card. anyone have recommendations?

I do a decent amount of flying but I normally have some bag to check. Even when I don't I still just did all the check in stuff at the airport.

Friday night I'm heading to Virginia Beach right after work (going to catch a Norfolk Admirals vs St James game after the Pens/Flyers). Since I'm only going for a few days I'm just taking a gym bag that I'll bring onto the plane with me.

Exactly what does checking in online mean? It seems to just be a way to tell the airline you actually plan on showing up for the flight. I'll "check in" online Friday afternoon, print my boarding pass, and just show up to the security line at the airport with my boarding pass and bag, right? I'm connecting in DC, so will I get two boarding passes when I first "check in"?

LITT, my wife and I both have the Venture card, and we love it. The rewards are awesome, and no international change fee is pretty valuable for future traveling.

Pitt, you will be able to print both of your boarding passes, and just walk straight to the security line since you aren't checking bags.

If you're flying Southwest, the earlier you check in, the better your boarding position.

Is that partly what constitutes the A|B|C boarding groups? I just assumed that was by fare paid.

Yes. Business class is usually mostly A boarding and people who pay $10 extra for it.

edit: You can check in 24 hrs in advance and just print your boarding pass at the airport.

As far as using the Venture Card, is it basically any airline any time? I.e. I was thinking about doing the same thing to an all inclusive, say Cancun. Can I fly whenever?

I paid the $10 for the trip to Vegas. I want to see if it's worth it, because there is no guarantee you end up with A.

My only worry is we probably wont have enough points to book the flight until like april, and the flight would be for June. I wouldn't want to miss out.
