Re: Odd Things You Read on Your Facebook Wall Thread
So now I'm seeing when someone I dont even know posts on one of my friends pages in my feed. And these aren't "so and so Liked a post on their page"..."so and so replied to a link on their page." Its just straight on my feed of some stranger telling them they miss and want to drink with some person I knew in high school. Did this just start occuring?

i'm not the most in-tune type of guy to people's emotional needs, but i don't understand how facebook spam like this is going to make anyone feel better on a personal level.Sobering thoughts as we enter the holiday season...It is important to remember that not everyone is surrounded by large wonderful families. Some of us have problems during the holidays and sometimes are overcome with great sadness when we remember the loved ones who are not with us. And, many spend these times with and are besieged by loneliness. We all need caring, loving thoughts right now. If I don't see your name, I'll understand. May I ask my friends wherever you might be, to kindly copy, paste, and share this status for one hour to give a moment of support to all those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune. I hope to see this on the walls of all my friends just for moral support. I know some will! I did it for a friend and you can too!

That is the typical "Look how thoughtful I am" posturing that people do to make themselves look like deep and selfless individuals. Its mindless drivel that accomplishes nothing besides from the 8 or so likes and 4 comments of people "cheering on the good fight" against "the selfishness of people today."

This is up there with the stuff about "preparing your pets for the holidays" news reports and some of the other stuff I've seen about helping kids with social disabilities cope during the holidays. I get that some people are overwhelmed by the holidays, but some of that stuff makes it sound like nobody should be happy because some people struggleshmenguin wrote:i'm not the most in-tune type of guy to people's emotional needs, but i don't understand how facebook spam like this is going to make anyone feel better on a personal level.Sobering thoughts as we enter the holiday season...It is important to remember that not everyone is surrounded by large wonderful families. You're so selfless, you should tell everybody about it. If only more people were like you.One of the truest statements of life : actions speak louder than words...
So annoyed that I put so many others before myself and never get the same..
