Anybody else get this one? :face:

14 YEAR OLD BOY WAS SHOT 6 TIMES BY HIS STEPFATHER. THIS BOY WAS PROTECTING HIS LITTLE 6 YEAR OLD SISTER WHO WAS ABOUT TO BE RAPED BY THIS POOR .. EXCUSE OF A MAN. THE LITTLE GIRL DID NOT GET HURT , THANKS TO HER BRAVE OLDER BROTHER. THEIR MOM WAS AT WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENED. NOW THIS BRAVE YOUNG LITTLE BOY IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE,BUT DOCTORS SAY HE WILL NOT SURVIVE UNLESS HE GETS AN OPERATION WHICH IS COSTLY AND HIS MOM CANNOT PAY. ALL FACE BOOK COMPANIES HAVE AGREED TO DONATE 45 CENTS FOR EVERY TIME SOMEONE POSTS THIS TO THEIR WALL. SO,PLEASE SHARE THIS ON YOUR WALL. SO,THAT TOGETHER WE CAN HELP SAVE THIS BOYS LIFE. AS AN ARTIST I JUST PASSED THIS MESSAGE DOWN AND "SHARE" FOR A LITTLE LIFE

Am I supposed to believe that the doctors are going to let this boy die if X number of people dont share this on their wall?

I dont' know if it was posted on any previous page, but there was just an article on CNN or MSN where these stories are just crap. It specifically noted one of a picture of a 7 year old girl in a chearleading outfit with a baldhead, obvious sign of cancer treatment. It then says to like if you want to fight for this girl. Well, it turned out the family of the girl got the post and were infuriated because 1) the picture was 6 years old, and 2) the girl is now 13 and has been cancer free for years and 3) it did not originate from a friend or family.

These people found the pic in the mom's photbucket site and started post. When they get a ton of likes and show the page is widely viewed and passed on, they sell it to other con people and make a nice profit.

That is why I never "like" or pass those things on.

Your company would go under quickly if they really donated based on people liking me. I'm amazing.

Not sure why this should be surprising, but it strikes me that the people who were annoying in High School and College 20-25 years ago continue to be annoying today.

Some people that used to not be annoying become annoying. It usually doesn't work the other way around though. :pop:

I guess it's facebooks 10th birthday. Did anyone look at their movie?

I would have liked to pick my own theme song.

Friend's most recent status update:
Ummm nothing like hearing a lady fall out of the window of your building and hit the ground while you are studying Civil Procedure. Holy crap. At least the Hermosa Beach ambulance gets here fast. Wow. Thankfully she didn't hit her head. Looks like a broken ankle/foot.

Oh my!!!!! My nose piercing is stuck in my nose literally! It is embedded in my skin! Having one heck of a time trying to get this damn thing out of my nose! It's a corkscrew! Twisting and turning it hurts like hell! Kevin even tried to get it! Ouch!!!!!!! Finally after God knows how long: I GOT IT! Didn't have any trouble putting a straight post in because the hole is so big and the post is so skinny! I will never wear a corkscrew one again! Geez! Glad that is finally over!

there's a thing going around now about how mattel should be selling a cancer barbie with no hair. i guess the point is that girls will develop a greater understanding for that situation? ok...so i get that there's nothing bad about cancer awareness, but...

-what is the expected reaction when a little kid opens their present on christmas morning, and finds a diseased doll? isn't that the complete opposite of what a "toy" is supposed to convey?
-from what i've seen, kids are already amazing at not only processing serious illnesses, but also showing an unbelievable amount of support and compassion for classmates who are sick.

so what need is this filling, exactly? if kids don't know about cancer, let them hold onto that as long as possible. because when they find out, they don't go, "ewwww". they send letters and put up symbolic ribbons and generally do a ton of things to help as best they can.

and if a kid already has cancer and you want to get them a doll, you can probably find one online that suits your needs. and if not, i'm pretty sure you don't need a chainsaw to cut the hair off a barbie doll.
