Re: NBA
Holy crap. I know the Pistons aren't good, but the Sixers are winning by 30 points in the fourth quarter. They will NOT break the record for the longest losing streak in professional sports history. I am so disappointed.

Donald Sterling racist remarks

In the recording, the man believed to be Sterling questions his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, about her association with minorities. TMZ reports that Stiviano, who is black and Mexican, posted a picture of her with Magic Johnson on Instagram, a photo that has since been removed.
"It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you're associating with black people. Do you have to?" the man believed to be Sterling says. He continues, "You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that ... and not to bring them to my games."

Re: NBA
This is just odd. Let me make sure I get it, his girlfriend is a black Mexican but not allowed to be seen associating with blacks or mexicans. But she is allowed to sleep with whomever she wants. Just don't broadcast it or bring them around.Ad@m wrote:Donald Sterling racist remarks

The only normal thing about this story is that Jesse Jackson is all over it.
Either there's something missing from this story or this guy needs a good head shrinking.

Re: NBA
I saw my mom today and because of this nonsense she asked me quote "Who won the Clippers game" I literally made her repeat the question 3 times because I was so stunned. She said that's all they're talking about on CNN. I've never had my mother ask me the results of an NBA game in my life. That was definitely a new one.

Re: NBA
Is it really that a big of a story that a 80+ year old white dude said some mild racist comments in a private conversation that it is OMG BREAKING NEWS on every major news outlet? It's not like he's had a history of being a bigot. Guess the NCAAP will stop giving him awards now.

Yeah..not sure why the NAACP was scheduled to give him an award, but he has made similar comments quite a few times in the past. He's a racist piece of garbage.PghSkins wrote:Huh? Re: NBA
The NAACP has been honoring racists for years...I don't think that's really a big story. Agree with columbia on the weird girlfriend dynamic....this guy is clearly a loon. Will be interesting to see how the Clippers play out this seriesPghSkins wrote:Huh? And that the guy's married and his wife was at the game yesterday.columbia wrote:One odd aspect that the young woman in question is 1/2 African American.
I guess I always knew that some people had the open marriage concept but... I'd lose some important (to me) body parts.

Did I miss the "mildly" post? As far as I know Donald Sterling has always been a first-class dirtbag. Not sure if this was posted yet, but this is hardly Sterling's first foray into making these kinds of remarks:

Re: NBA
The NBA has looked the other way for a long time.
As has been pointed out in the last day, the league has argued in court that they are a singular financial entity, so they need to act like one and get rid of him.
