I don't know statistics. I know when we were doing our birthing classes and the hospital tour that we were told a lot of women are doing it that way. That is why there is a handle above the bed in most birthing rooms.

No it was a porcelain toilet, but it was flat on the ground. It flushed and everything, but you just couldn't sit on it. You had to squat.
