Indeed. He seems to have a good thing going for him up there. The GOAT Tom Savage also lead the Texans to a 4th quarter comeback this weekend.slappybrown wrote:Good for him.

Watch them lose to Delaware. It would be a Pitt thing to do.

Please don't. I'd rather VT not have a transitive loss to Delaware.jimjom wrote:Watch them lose to Delaware. It would be a Pitt thing to do.

So, discuss:
Do you believe Paul Chryst can enhance Pitt's profile to a team that does something more than playing bowls in Detroit? Why or why not? This season really is going to be another wash out due to youth, but next year the team needs to starting showing improvement. Can Chryst do it?

Yep. He has a good formula of relying on his line, a stable of RBs and enough skill elsewhere to win. The guys are young, but he is recruiting well so far in his "bread and butter" areas. I think he can turn pitt into a 9 win a year team with the possibility to hit ten or so when the schedule is right. I don't see why Pitt can't be on the VT level of CFB. Pitt has had the talent in the past, but it's a culture thing. Pitt gonna Pitt, etc.. Seems like the players are really buying into Chryst, he just needs a good year to really get the momentum going in my opinion.

Its good to see that the blue hen quarterback went to greensburg central. pitt has a history of getting shredded to pieces by guys they did not recruit.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
Last year when W&M beat Delaware their coach remarked that the Blue Hen offense struggled because they couldn't get their screen game going. Any team that uses bubble screens so often they actually call it a screen game deserves to a die a fiery death.

My group is back again (all 12 of us).
So pumped for tomorrow! I doubt that I will sleep much tonight.
This is my favorite weekend of the year. Pitt home opener then our fantasy draft Sunday at BWW. Plus I get to go home after the game tomorrow and enjoy Clemson / Georgia, FSU / Ok St, & LSU / Wisky.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I'm always painfully optimistic about Pitt and usually hate myself afterward.ulf wrote:Yep. Me and ulf senior got tix. Moved out of the club but up to second row upstairs on the 50. Sat there for a steeler game and loved it.

This gentleman's crew is on the second row of the upper deck as well in 532. That lower part of the upper deck (is there even a way to describe those 10 rows easily?) where you have to walk down to your seats have to be the best seats in the house.ulf wrote:Me and ulf senior got tix. We renewed, three of us in 141 although one of us can't make it tomorrow (not me!). I will barely be able to sleep too as weird as that sounds. I will probably go watch wvu get destroyed by Alabama at Rivers after.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
We are in 511, across the way. Honestly, we were debating leaving the club anyway, as it's really only useful if it's really hot (week 1 and possibly 2) or really cold (usually just the last week), and the rest of the games are perfect fall weather. There are shorter lines, but it's not really worth the dough. Once we tried a game in the first few rows up top we were sold. Best seats for sure. At least for the price, if not period.KennyTheKangaroo wrote:This gentleman's crew is on the second row of the upper deck as well in 532. I'll be on the road and then only have 4G access after that (so no ESPN3 for me). Feel free to keep the game updates coming.

Re: 2014-2015 Pitt Super Panthers Football Thread
It's the day we've all been waiting for. Another year of domination by the Super Panthers is underway. Can Chad Voytik take us back to the promised land of where we were when we fired our coach 5 years ago? Will the remaining Clairton players on the roster still be on the roster in January? Will someone pull an Aaron Donald and just go totally berserk after having a decent season last year? Stay tuned.

Well that was a impressive first drive.. ran the ball right down their throat. Yes I know Delaware stinks, but still.
