I don't really disagree with the article but it's written in such a pretentious way that I think I'd rather disagree with it just so I'm not in the same boat as the author.columbia wrote:Ammunition for shad during Pumpkin Spice Latte season:

Is it too much to ask that pumpkin coffee contain some pumpkin? This is not an off brand product and carries a premium price.

Oh my goodness! I leave the room for 10 minutes and my kids almost start a fire!!! Thank you God for your protection.
Underneath is a photo of what seems to be a perfectly toasted bagel save for a quarter section of the top part is darker from possible being wedged against the coils in the toaster, which happens to me often and not only taste perfectly fine but in no way posses any threat of burning a house down.

But yeah anyway it doesn't bother me THAT much to be unlazy and hide/block them. But this girl is close. She's one of these every single aspect of her kids lives is posted on facebook. I mean EVERYTHING. Reading a book, listening to music, watching a movie, eating breakfast...

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
haha, nice. I've found that women writing about "natural food" is probably in the Top 5 of my categories of Internet users I want to dropkick in the face. Men are bad when they write about it, but so many of these women are over the top sassy and obnoxious about it.columbia wrote:Ammunition for shad during Pumpkin Spice Latte season:

And for God's sake, do people that order pumpkin spice lattes at DD and Starbucks truly believe they are splitting open **** pumpkins outside? I thought it was known that those types of drinks were some of the worst possible "foods" for you, and you would be better off getting a fast food meal with a black coffee?

pumpkin is such subtle flavor that I doubt having any actual pumpkin would cause a change in the taste.Factorial wrote:Is it too much to ask that pumpkin coffee contain some pumpkin? This is not an off brand product and carries a premium price.

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
most pumpkin beer (just like the pumpkin spiced things) the flavor is in the cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar, not necessarily from the pumpkin itself.

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
I am amazed at what appears to be someone who purports to ply her trade in the food world acting appalled that there is no pumpkin in pumpkin spice. It's a blend, like herbes de Provence. Allspice, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg..... the so-called 'warm spices'.columbia wrote:Ammunition for shad during Pumpkin Spice Latte season:

Truth in advertising would be to call it pumpkin spice....which is what Starbucks does.

Re: Official LGP Facebook Complaint Thread
Yeah, I think that's what c2i was getting at. What people think of "pumpkin spice" is essentially the list of spices that c2i mentioned that elicits the taste of pumpkin. That being said, there are some brewers that actually use pureed pumpkin or simply slice it up and drop it into the mash.
But yeah, if you added pure pumpkin to a pumpkin spice latte, no one would be the wiser.

I just don't care for flavored beers, unless it's a product of the fermentation process. So thumbs down to bourbon stoudts and Christmas ales (which are bloody awful).
