That would be awesome but Pitts doing bigger things this year than the Pinstripe Bowl

Think there will be a full house when an unbeaten Pitt beats unbeaten VT on Thursday night in October?

A Capital One or Peach Bowl is more prestigious, but I would drop down to any bowl outside the playoff (even it means something as bad as the Compass again) if Pitt-UPS would be the matchup.ulf wrote:That would be awesome but Pitts doing bigger things this year than the Pinstripe Bowl

Oh I know. I'd rather go watch them play PSU on Latrobes new practice field than see them play in another bowl.

Meh. I'm ready for Iowa, but I hope the team doesn't have their heads there also.

FIU lost to I-AA Bethune-Cookman -- at home. Voytik shouldn't throw more than 10 passes.

I actually hope they come out with Voytik throwing. Let him build some confidence before Iowa.slappybrown wrote:FIU lost to I-AA Bethune-Cookman -- at home. Voytik shouldn't throw more than 10 passes.

I was thinking about this just the other day, actually.Rocco wrote:Think there will be a full house when an unbeaten Pitt beats unbeaten VT on Thursday night in October?
Can I use 2003 as a historical proof that it could be? I was a season ticket holder that year, and VT came to Pittsburgh on November 8 ranked #5 nationally.
College Gameday was here for the game. Pitt was 6-2 at that point, and the game was absolutely insane. The stadium was packed. When Polite scored at the end, it was probably the loudest I've ever heard a Heinz Field crowd outside of Polamalu's interception of Flacco in the AFC Championship.
I hope it's like that. That crowd was proof to me that 1) Pitt football could be a big-time draw if the program wins consistently, and 2) Heinz Field as the (off-campus) home stadium isn't nearly the issue some make it out to be.

Win consistently and fill seats, the Pittsburgh tradition.

A disinterested alumni is probably the main issue.Stoosh wrote:I was thinking about this just the other day, actually.Rocco wrote:Think there will be a full house when an unbeaten Pitt beats unbeaten VT on Thursday night in October?

Pitt-FIU thoughts, dudes...
1. Please.
2. Do.
3. Not.
4. Let.
5. Voytik, Boyd, Conner or any offensive linemen.
6. Get.
7. Hurt.

The loudest heinz has been for a Pitt game was the revis punt return for a td against the hooples.
It's understandable why no one cares about this fiu game.
