It's been twenty five plus years of asking why I do this (pitt fandom) to myself but here we are.

Biz might not actually be suspended and instead taking the day off tomorrow in honor of Yum Kippur. Whichever you prefer. Internet rumors are like a choose your own adventure Goosebumps book.

Whitehead is this coaching staff's biggest commitment that didn't have "well, if not for those sanctions" attached to it (Boyd, Dorian Johnson). Bookser was a HUGE commitment (offers from Bama, FSU, Georgia, Ohio State, etc.) and the credit the coaching staff deserved for getting him was diminished by their inability to get Henry and/or Nicholson. Even still, getting Whitehead was bigger.

Whitehead is an impact-caliber player on par with Boyd and could be better than Revis. Spring ball will be interesting because he could completely reset the defensive backfield for Pitt. At corner, they'll have Pitts, Maddox and Howard back. At safety they'll have Webb and Amara. Mitchell could either stay at corner or move back to safety (his original position).

To go with this, I hope to see a legitimate pass rusher emerge as this season goes on. Spread offenses sometimes make it tough on the pass rush and it does look like there's some potential there with Blair and Soto. That bodes well for future seasons, but they can't expect the DBs to solidify without it.

9:30 in the morning and my day is already made by waking up to a Stoosh post.

- I think we'll see Mitchell move back to safety. That position will need more depth and I'm not sure Mitchell has the wheels to be a corner.

- I think Blair will be that legitimate pass rusher. He's shown some fantastic flashes so far and is only going to get better. I feel he's been superior to Soto as a pash rusher at this point.
