They are also playing up the program's historical strengths -- eg, countless images of the College Football Hall of Famers who have played there, images of the Pitt alums who are also in the Pro Hall, etc. In the last decade alone, they've had the best RB (McCoy), best WR (Fitz), and best CB (Revis) in the NFL at certain times.

And now it seems like Aaron Donald is making his mark as well. Defensive rookie of the year

First commit of the Narduzzi era. Jay Stocker, 6'2, 186 pound safety from Coatesville, PA. Three-star recruit ranked by Rivals as the 11th best player in the state. ESPN has him as the 33rd best safety in the country and the 8th best recruit in PA. Other offers included Wisconsin, Boston College, Cincy, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, and West Virginia.

Second commitment of the night. Shawn Curtis, LB from Miami. 6'3, 247 pounds, will probably be moved to DE. Rivals has him at 2 stars, 24/7 Sports has him at 3 stars. Other offers included Wisconsin, Army, Duke, Illinois, UCF, and Mississippi State.

It's a bold strategy recruiting non-MAC level players.

Here's Shawn Curtis' highlight video. No idea what level his high school plays at, but most of the video is him absolutely destroying people.

Sounds like a perfect Dixon recruit. Is he a dual sport athlete?

Curtis and Stocker had both been on Chryst's radar, but neither seemed to be high priorities. Narduzzi and his assistants went after both of these kids very hard.

There are reports that they're also close to a commitment from Florida CB Kenyatta Anderson (three-star, 6'1", 190), who wasn't on Pitt's radar until a week ago. Was probably being recruited by Conklin and Harley when they were at FIU.

Back to LB. Another impressive prospect is current commit Kevin Givens from Altoona HS. Giving credit where credit is due, Chryst secured a commitment from Givens a while back. His senior year highlight film is unreal. Keep in mind, Altoona is playing AAAA in the WPIAL.

What Givens does to the RT in the clip at the 1:02 mark is almost unfair.

It is delicious that both Stocker and Curtis were offered by Wisconsin.

The Pat Signal went up on Twitter about 2 hours ago. Recruit #3: Anthony McKee, 6'2, 195 pound LB from Columbus. Rivals has him as a 3 star, 23rd prospect in Ohio, 36th LB nationwide. ESPN puts him at a 4 star, 12th in the state, and 25th LB. Other offers included Michigan State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. Never got the OSU offer than he was looking for. Played FS and WR in high school but he's expected to put on some size in college. Also runs a 4.50 40.

Now 3 for 3. Two of the three were also offered by WVU, which makes me feel warm inside.

This is a nice commit (no trolling). Coatesville is in western Chester County, yet it's an absolutely awful city/school system, basically a giant ghetto in the middle of rural farmland. We went out of our way to avoid this school district when we moved out here (we live about 15 minutes away), because it is basically like East St. Louis. In other words, this dude is probably a solid athlete and football player.
