Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
It's a real shame there's not a way to do this where we can all drink beers head to head.

maybe there is? it would take a bit of organizing and worst case scenario, everyone can just send heady topper to me and I'll let you know how great it really is

Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
Eddy apparently wants to make this as hard as possible by making a really long list.

I just ran through my top ipa (4+ out 5) list from 2014. Want me to cut it back?

Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
Updated the list. Put what I felt were the more recognized and widely available in the region and lesser knowns in wild card. I also only kept one of each brewery in the region and second from that brewery in the WC. Ones in the region will not be part of the initial vote. The top 8 from the wc entries will go into the bracket. If anyone thinks I should adjust anything, let me know.

That was sort of my thinking on what wildcard would be good for. So far so good.

Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
I asked someone at work and he recommended (for the SE):

I have zero idea, as to its availability....

We will keep nominations open through today. Tomorrow we will vote on the wild cards. How about everyone give top three wild cards and the 8 highest votes move into the brackets.

The list is not complete without Hoptoligist from Knee Deep Brewing company (West Coast IPA)

Also, most anything by Stone can hit the list. For the sake of argument, Arrogant Bastard.

Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
i dont drink a lot of beer anymore, however, when i was in napa a while back, i had blind pig IPA from a brewery in sonoma. easily the best ive ever had. i think dogfish does not deserve to be on the list, but i think from a market penetration perspective, it seems to be the IPA most people have had so i get it. having said that, i am surprised to not see sierra nevada or any brew of theirs on the list. i can definitely get behind the sweetwater IPA. very tasty. same with the bells two hearted.

Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
Hoptimum is Sierra Nevada. DFH is a pretty strong option. I don't like a lot of their stuff, but the 60 and 90 minutes are very good. Don't think it has to do with market size. On the other hand, I think Sweetwater is more of an average IPA. Certainly decent, but compared to some of the others on the list, not in the same class, imo. It'll be interesting to see how the voting breaks down.
Good call on commodore Perry.

Re: LGP Beer Madness (IPA Edition)
are we just picking our top 3 from the wild card and posting them for the voting process?
