I'd encourage you to watch some highlights from this year. The things he can do in zero space are incredible. Such a young age as well. I also like the Spurs, so...Kraftster wrote:has he shown to be more than a poacher in a great run of form yet? I dunno, those comments seem a little hasty. I haven't seem him too much, though.

Agreed; check out some of the highlights. I'm not really a Spurs fan at all - my fandom tends to switch from year to year, but I honestly just really like soccer - but he is making goals from nothing. He's also scoring from all areas: headers, volleys, long shots, poaches. Maybe he's just on a tear this year like Papiss Cisse was for Newcastle a year or two ago, or perhaps Lukaku for Everton last year, but I think he's gonna be up there for a while... especially if Eriksen is constantly behind him.

I'd like to see more of him. If only I didn't have to look at MoPo in order to watch him. From what I've seen, he seems to be a high work rate poacher, who fits perfectly with the pressing style Spurs are playing. I don't mean that as a huge slight, but I just haven't seen can he play an intricate game? Hold the ball up? Etc. it's wildly impressive what he's done at this age from basically out of no where though.

I agree with you re Kane and I don't have a feeling about spurs one way or another.Kraftster wrote:has he shown to be more than a poacher in a great run of form yet? I dunno, those comments seem a little hasty. I haven't seem him too much, though.

Any English player also gets a presumption of being overhyped.
Seems like a fine young talent, but is he of the class to cut it at city, Chelsea, Bayern, barca, RM, etc? Not sure were at the point where I can say that.

Why do you say that? Assuming he can replicate this form (or close to it) over the rest of this season and next, 2015-16 is probably his last at Spurs.count2infinity wrote:Hopefully (and seemingly) we will never find out.slappybrown wrote:Seems like a fine young talent, but is he of the class to cut it at city, Chelsea, Bayern, barca, RM, etc?

He's a Spurs fanboi. He's said numerous times he wants to spend his entire career at Tottenham.

Thus why I said he seemingly won't leave, rather than definitely won't leave. I've never met him, don't know him, he very well may cut and run, but I'd think that silverware may be all the sweeter to bring it back to his hometown club.

No doubt about that. Totti once said that one title at Roma was worth ten at Milan or Juventus. Bringing an EPL title to Spurs would be similar.count2infinity wrote:Thus why I said he seemingly won't leave, rather than definitely won't leave. Well, I imagine he stays if and only if he thinks that's realistic sometime soon
Which is why IMO next season is his last at white hart lane

I miss last season when teams would commit penalties against Pool and refs would actually give the penalty.

New York City FC at Orlando. David Villa vs. Kaka.
Over 60,000 in attendance. That's pretty cool.

I had no idea David Villa was playing for NYCFC
is he not good enough for Europe anymore? or does he see this as a money making opportunity?

Same reason why Gerrard (and Lampard) are coming to MLS as well. Can play, but a much lower pressure & likely more money here. Grow the game, raise morale, blah blah blah.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote:I had no idea David Villa was playing for NYCFC

This Real Madrid / Schalke game is absurd. Check highlights if you can.
