Re: ISIS Crisis
Iran is infinitely more dangerous than ISIS. They will basically control Iraq if unchecked. Assad in Syria is their puppet. If they prevail in Syria they will have Syria plus Hezbollah in Lebanon in close attack positions on Israeli borders. They now control Yemen with their surrogates have Shia followers in Jordan that could resent major problems there. The U.S. has destroyed our Egytian alliance because Obama is P O' that the Muslim brohood was kicked out. Putin is close to replacing us in providing military arms to Egypt. Putin and Iran have strengthened greatly in influence in the mideast accompanied by the American decline. I don't think anyone wants American troops fighting these battles.Factorial wrote:How do we feel about Iran being the ones essentially fighting ISIS on the ground now? I guess better them than us.
Our main emphasis is an NK-Carter type agreement on Nukes that's made for PR purposes with a radical terrorist state that needs approval by Russia and China, both of which have no intent of furthering American or western interests.

New video comes out today showing a roughly 12 year old boy shooting an alleged mossad spy in the head. Ugh. These people need dealt with, sooner rather than later

Nice change from the pictures of them throwing homosexuals off the roofs of buildings the last couple weeks.mac5155 wrote:New video comes out today showing a roughly 12 year old boy shooting an alleged mossad spy in the head. Ugh. These people need dealt with, sooner rather than later

It's always interesting to me how shocking it's portrayed when these behaviors come from the middle east. In Africa, they're been raising children to kill for decades now. It never gathers the press like this story does. Just an observation.

Maybe for the foot soldiers. I get the impression that the people that lead these organizations tend to be more tribal, warlord like.

Re: ISIS Crisis
This guys says no:
https://carm.org/do-christians-muslims- ... p-same-god" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; No, Christians, Jews, and Muslims do not worship the same God. Though there are similarities, there are also key differences in who they define God to be.
snip
It is a uniquely Christian teaching, and this is a critical difference dealing with the nature of God. He is either triune (Christianity), or he is not triune (Judaism, Islam). Logically speaking, God cannot be both a Trinity and also not a Trinity at the same time. In addition, Jesus cannot be both God in flesh (second person of the Trinity) and also not God in flesh. Therefore, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam do not believe in nor worship the same God.

He can be a trinity and then not be a trinity if he damn well pleases, from what I've heard.

Re: ISIS Crisis
Carm's a pretty conservative apologetic site with many writers, just an FYI.
That being said, PFiDC is correct. CARM's kinda short-sighted there (specifically in the historical sense; they focus VERY heavily on doctrine).

Not really good logic, there. His conclusion refers only to what the different religions believe God 'does.' It's like looking at the same machine, with one person says it does 5 things and another person says it does 2 things. The machine is what it is; regardless of people's beliefs.Factorial wrote:This guys says no:

Re: ISIS Crisis
it depends on the person and the belief, you can't really say "all jews and all christians believe in the same god".
I would argue that Christians don't even agree on the same god.

Uh... you're saying exactly what Eismann just argued against. (I definitely disagree with you.
