Can’t pin this on Raask but it would be nice for him to have a save this period if you are a Bruins fan.
He's not helping his upcoming UFA value any, especially with the Bruins being pretty high on his backup Swayman.
I expect the Bruins are going to go all-out from the drop of the puck to try and mount a comeback, but they look like a beaten bunch out there right now and I don't know if breaking up the Perfection Line was the way to go. If they can't get an early goal in the 3rd, Isles will cruise on to the series win. Then get overwhelmed by TB.
Knuckle puck. Boucher had also been all over every goalie for being beaten too easily high glove, said the opposite on this one and it was pretty much unstoppable.
Give me a shutdown pedigree goalie instead of going big.
Goaltending is only everything.
But what makes a goalie have a shutdown pedigree? Vasilevsky took a few years to win a Cup. So did Holtby and he’s not really shutdown. Carey Price has been OK in the playoffs but no Cups.
I’ll take fast AND big over a goalie who “experts” say are shout down goalies and I’ll take even just fast like we had with Murray in net. Without the team speed and the puck possession that comes with it we don’t win either Cup and the goalie just needs to be competent and save what they should and occasionally come up with a big save.
Deflection at point, defenseman swipes at the puck and deflects it another direction, Fleury makes a catch to just get it frozen. Defensemen apologizing and Fleury is just smiling and laughing.
No matter where Montreal plays their next game, they will have to be taken aback at playing in front of pretty much normal crowds and they haven’t seen those for a long time.
When I said I was rooting for Carolina, it looked like Vegas didn't have a chance. I got swindled by the Avalanche hype. I'm really rooting for Fleury! Fleury! Fleury!
Rask out with a torn labrum in his hip. Out until January / February. Only wants to play for Boston. Scratch him off the list
Boston is a pretty frugal team and Rask may not like what they offer him as they also have Hall and Krejci as UFAs and a blueline in need of a lot of help.
Tampa looks all confused and a little flat. Islanders continue to do their thing…
Stamkos turnover directly let to a goal against. Cooper benched him. That’s interesting.
Tampa seemed content staying to the outside when in the offensive zone and looked like the Penguins in transition and exiting their zone.
TB looked flat and out of synch. A lot of unforced turnovers and almost like some of the forwards were unfamiliar playing together on the same line. Lack of focus? One of those games? Game 2 should be a response.
I’m going to go against the conventional wisdom of all the talking heads and say the Habs will feed off the crowd especially if they get booed. Players love to piss off a road crowd, this is their first chance to do that since last March, 2020.
The Knights players from Canada hearing their anthem in person in a long while might be more emotional.
