The missed penalty against Perry was egregious... and that is not a statement that can often be made.

Speechless, we really could be looking at a MTL-NYI final... fml. Pretty sure I couldn't watch that.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Looked like a high stick to knock the puck down entering the zone but with what they didn’t call on Vegas in the last 30 minutes that seems fair.brwi wrote:Pretty sweet OT winner for the Habs
And is that even reviewable? I thought it was limited to just goals scored with a high stick. Seems like if the linesman misses it it’s done, same as a hand pass that’s uncalled leading to a goal but not scoring the goal.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Even by playoff standards that game from the 3rd on was anything goes and Vegas definitely benefitted from it, but that wasn't enough to overcome MAF being MAF.Sigwolf wrote:The missed penalty against Perry was egregious... and that is not a statement that can often be made.

Neither could I. Tampa didn't show up Game 1 but has been the better team sinceSigwolf wrote:Speechless, we really could be looking at a MTL-NYI final... fml. Pretty sure I couldn't watch that.

These ******* on NBC, Clutterbuck absolutely could have avoided all contact on Kucherov and especially could have not put two gloves to his head.

Of course Clutterbuck knew what he was doing and who he was hitting. Silly to think otherwise Edzo and BouchhhhhhDelPen wrote:These ******* on NBC, Clutterbuck absolutely could have avoided all contact on Kucherov and especially could have not put two gloves to his head.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Slavin definitely deserved the Lady Byng award.....one minor penalty all season and that was for shooting the puck over the glass. He plays as a top pair dman, had 24 takeaways, and has to cover for Dougie Hamilton. Amazing and I guess that's why he's considered the best defensive dman in the NHL. I really had some doubts that the NHL would give a dman the award but I don't see how they couldn't in Slavin's case.

Trotz is one of the few NHL coaches that knows when to use his timeout instead of watching everything go to hell and waiting until the last minute of the game.

Nassau Coliseum just won’t die. At least one more game there.

Vegas supposedly turning to Lehner tonight. I guess DeBoer has little tolerance for goaltending gaffes.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
He doesn't seem to be a fan of MAF to begin with. Might have something to do with the Vegas meltdown vs the Sharks 2 years ago in the playoffs that DeBoer had an ice level view of, but given a choice, he definitely would like to see Lehner out there instead. Problem is that Lehner has a lot of rust but he should be good enough unless Vegas doesn't show up like his last start vs the Avs in Game 1.pens_CT wrote:Vegas supposedly turning to Lehner tonight. Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
With a team that was running 1a/1b all season anyway that is understandable. That was a pretty egregious gaffe. It may end up being the wrong move, but he would have been second-guessed without mercy if he went back to Fleury and lost again with Lehner still on the bench. They should not be trailing Montreal going into the fourth game of the series, so something had to change.pens_CT wrote:Vegas supposedly turning to Lehner tonight. This is when a black glove helps the goalie.

Definitely. It's also one where you are 99.9% certain that puck crossed the line but there just isn't video evidence that proves it.DelPen wrote:This is when a black glove helps the goalie.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
But then again, white pads help the goalie by masking open spaces on goal because they ice and boards are white. When Fleury had the yellow pads an optometrist in Ottawa wrote about how the yellow actually helped shooters because there was clear definition to shoot at. He changed to a more traditional pattern in 2007/2008.brwi wrote:Definitely. Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
12 shots thru 2 isn’t going to cut it against price. Can’t fault Lehner on the goal, not many goalies make that save right now except probably Price.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
This ref with #28 could have just taken both guys off but to just look at two guys committing several penalties in a matter of seconds and just shake his head and smirk is absurd. This is why the NHL will never change.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Nice to see Montreal upped attendance to 3500 this round from 2500 but Sony is really getting their advertising value having the tarps on camera like it’s March in PA.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
15 shots after 45 minutes, not acceptable for Vegas.
