Montreal should not have won game 3. Vegas should not have won game 4.

My only dog in this series is Fleury. If he’s not playing I don’t care.

Tampa and Montreal are both really good at clearing the crease. It's no coincidence they are in the final 4. I just can't understand why the Penguins ignore opposing players who setup in front of the net, not only do they not clear the crease they insist on fronting the player.

Total domination by Tampa so far. Isles have given up like 9 2 on 1’s so far.
I don’t want to see Tampa repeat, but they are looking like the class of the league.

Pens really need a strange in strategy. Their style clearly doesn’t equate to playoff success the last several seasons now.thehockeyguru wrote:Tampa and Montreal are both really good at clearing the crease. They need a few physical players and they also need to have the fight to go to the net. Smaller players still can be tough to play against.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
I agree. They need more size and a change in defensive philosophy. You don't need to be big up front if you have a tenacious forecheck which we lackKG wrote:Pens really need a strange in strategy. This game is a little different than game 5 against the Pens and Bruins. Tampa took it to them.DelPen wrote:Isles are a **** disgrace
Hopefully Tampa wraps it up Wednesday. We all know the Isles won’t go away easy.

So how does Barzal get tossed for that cross check when Guentzel and Crosby got ten times worse than that in the first round?

Seems like when Gallagher does the stupid crap the Habs don’t win. He’s doing the stupid crap tonight.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Why would they just not have the linesman go to the room early to get stiches? They do this all the time in the regular season? Is there a playoff rule that says they need 4 officials at all times?

This series looks like the Stars-Vegas last year in the bubble where the Knights offense dries up against a lesser but defensively strong opponent.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Stone with a horrible turnover then a lazy back check. Two goals a result of absolutely incompetent back checking and then the 2nd goal was just no one covering Staal.

Less than 5 minutes in and I've seen 3 Islanders penalties and not one call.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
It’s amazing how the refs call absolutely nothing but will call a BS trip to negate a power play.
The league really needs to stop. Yes it’s the hardest trophy to win in sports doesn’t mean you need to skate through quicksand!

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
So they call Barzal falling over a player who is literally just skating to the puck a penalty but don’t call a blatant and vicious cross check away from the play where the ref is also literally looking right at it an nothing else.
**** this league.

I don't see the Isles coming back from 2-0 midway through the game.

LOL....I'm surprised Eberle got that much on that backhander, kudos to him because the Isles looked about done and suddenly right back in it.DelPen wrote:What about 2-1 with 25 to go?brwi wrote:I don't see the Isles coming back from 2-0 midway through the game.

Re: 2021 NHL Playoffs
Lamoriello winning GM of the year award (which is based on regular season) is a joke.
Isles finished in 4th place and all he did was trade a first round pick for Palmieri and Zajac. Both were duds in the regular season.
This team is all about Trotz and system.
