He has 13 and they're not even half way through the second round most likely. He has a great shot at Kurri's record of 19, which I thought Mario would break back in the day.KG wrote:Draisaitl with 2 more goals already. Think he already won the Conn Smythe

Devils smoke Carolina 8-4. So much for NJ having been figured out. Door's open for them to tie things up next game.

As always, if you look at Mario's stats it's this equation: Mario's goals or points per game / # of games played = X goals or points per game x # of games he should have played but didn't because of (whatever injury or illness) = he would have broken Gretzky's record.Sams_Dog wrote:He has 13 and they're not even half way through the second round most likely. Samsonov knocked out of the game vs Florida. Woll in cold to face a PP. Duclair ties it with 1 second left on the PP on a breakaway. 1-1 game.

Leafs will need Matt Murray to win 4 straight playoff games just to get out of the 2nd round now.

Sure looks like the last team in the East playoffs is moving on to the conference finals. Florida looking good, at least to me. I sure didn't see this coming.

How about Florida. Coming together at the right time. Definitely seem like the more hungry team.
Dubas might only have one game left.

I think the biggest thing these playoffs are showing us is that right now, just get into a playoffs and you have a chance. I think the 2nd biggest thing we are seeing is, you can have what appears to be a really well constructed team that just does not work in the post-season:
--Boston set an NHL record for points in a season, but in a 7 game series, they just didn't have it. Just purely looking at the numbers, their bottom 6 and their goaltending faltered. They scored 27 goals in their 7 game series. All but 4 goals came from Marchand, Bertuzzi, Hall, DeBrusk, and Pastranak. 4 other players had 1 goal each. Nobody on their defense scored a goal. They had 2 really good goalies, but didn't seem to utilize them correctly. It was said that Ullmark was dealing with a somewhat serious and painful injury, yet they rode him until Game 7. Add in the Presiden't Trophy curse, and the fact that Florida has just gotten hot at the right time, and a first round exit occured.
--Winnipeg did not expect to get bounced in the first round, and rumor is major changes are coming. They've got great players like Wheeler, Schiefle, Ehlers, Connor, Morrissey, Hellebyuck...but they just aren't getting to that next level. In 5 years, they have a playoff miss, 3 first/qualifying round exits, and 1 2nd round sweep.
--Rangers went up against a good team, but it was also "Rangers gonna be Rangers." They have a long running history of just going out and spending money, bringing in stars with zero attention paid to team chemistry.
There seem to be a lot of teams out there that may want to make major changes. That might benefit the Penguins, assuming everybody wants Granlund and Carter.

Is there a count of the most popular purchased Kraken jersey sales from an NHL authorized vendor? From highlights, no name stands out as a clear winner.

Right now, I don't think there is any one trade that gets this team over the hump. I really need to see a "plan" from someone. A series of moves that indicates what they are doing heading into next season.ville5 wrote:Granlund, POJ, '25 1st for Boeser and '25 2nd.
In terms of Boeser, if you are acquiring him, then you are likely saying goodbye to Zucker. You also then are likely saying goodbye to Rakell with Crosby, because Boeser is strictly a RW, which means either Rust has to be moved to LW, where he isn't as productive, or Rakell needs to move there, which is more likely since he can play both wings.
This team needs to add some size, it needs to add some grit, and it needs to add some speedy, tenacious forecheckers to its bottom 6. It also needs to potentially rework the defense, again, and may need goaltending.
The way the bottom 6 shapes up right now is probably more important than the top 6. Can they dump one or both of Granlund/Carter to make space? Can they add some toughness, speed, great forechecking types in that bottom 6?

No way. He's only $1.6 million more than Granlund. Rakell can spend some time on Geno's LW. Rust can spend some time on 3rd line. Sully is just gonna have to adapt lol.

If you had to pick a destination city for Bedard, where would it be?
I say Columbus. It's a franchise that hasn't had much success nor an identity. The sports fans there deserve better.
To commemorate, I would make their current third jersey "the cannon logo" the new primary threads.

He may have only 1 game left to participate.Murray hasn't appeared in a game since April 2 after suffering a concussion. Whether or not he's 100 percent healthy remains to be seen, but he was available as the third goalie Sunday after Ilya Samsonov (undisclosed) left the game. If Samsonov misses any time, Murray will likely dress as Joseph Woll's backup.

Seattle's at it again, won 7-2 at home against Dallas looking quite convincing and hungry. I wouldn't bet against them winning that series.
Florida up 3-0 now in theirs. Not looking very formidable or incredible, but just good enough to grind out a win. Toronto's up for some heartbreak again, there's no way they'll pull off a reverse sweep with what they've shown so far.

Seems like Toronto bought into the narrative that once they get over the hurdle of winning one round, they will go on a run. No so fast.
Also think teams are under-estimating Florida.
