Most of what he said was said before according to your posts.

But let me say this, because I believe context is important here. Sid, Geno, Letang and Rust ALL have NMC's. So they wouldn't be easy to move regardless. So, him suggesting he wants to keep vets around, while that may be true, he really doesn't have much of a choice. Unless they demand or ask for a trade, we're stuck with them.

This is what I'm speaking to, it appeases the core, which IMO is a big mistake, but they have NMC's so unless they ask out he's stuck with them. Sounds as if he's putting a positive spin on things.

As long as we hit on, accrue and develop picks and prospects that's all that matters for the forseeable future. If we can trade a pick or two for a quality young NHLer that's ok as well, as long as it's not a top 10 draft pick. In that case you keep it! Likely keep most of those picks. We need to draft the NEXT core.

Utah waived another LD, this time 26yrs Jusso Valimaki 6'3 - 220, Finland called him up for 4Nations,but was healthy scratch all 3 games, signed thru 2025-26 with 2M per.. probably better than Joseph and Graves.. but we are loaded on left side, we didnt even see Kolyachonok yet, last Utah D claim.

BUT if you ask me, I would waive Joseph and claim Jusso.

Wild seem like a good fit where they seem to have a need for a RD.

Was listening to Freidman's pod before. He speculated about Dallas and EK. Their coach DeBoer coached EK etc. He thinks it would be easier for a deal to be done in the summer after EK's bonus is paid out. His actual salary the last 2 years of his deal isn't much.

We'll see. I would think this would be EK's last season here. There's no reason for him to stay here. He's looking for a Cup. He wants to go to a competitor. You can tell by his play here.

He's always played like this, he's been more productive in the past however. If he's looking for a Cup, he might need to look in the mirror first before finding a new club.

I think the only reason the Wild have cap space is Kaprizov is on LTIR. They'd need that space to take him off of LTIR at some point if he isn't done for the regular season, and if he is out for the regular season, they're going to need major help at forward.
